East Columbus Health Center is an abortion facility operated by Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, an affiliate of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The Center was formerly named Planned Parenthood Central Ohio Women's Center.
OhioHealth Grant Medical Center
Ohio law mandates that abortionists must have admitting privileges at a local hospital. The East Columbus Health Center abortion facility has an agreement with OhioHealth Grant Medical Center to provide them with admitting privileges. OhioHealth bills itself as “a family of not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals,” but hospital officials said they remain committed to the pacts with abortion clinics. Grant Medical Center also provides admitting privileges to the other two abortion facilities in Columbus: Capital Care Women's Center and Founder's Women's Health Center.
Regarding the agreement, on July 28, 2013, Rev. Keith Vesper, vice president for OhioHealth Mission and Ministry stated,[1]
- "We will continue to provide this emergency care. Even though some of these procedures would not be performed within our own facilities, we are absolutely committed to safe, compassionate care for women in all circumstances.”
