Family Planning Conference 2010 was run by the Family Planning Association from 15 - 17 October 2010 at the Wellington Town Hall.

About

The November 2010 newsletter of the Abortion Law Reform Association of New Zealand featured an article on the conference in which it was noted,[1]

"it was notable that all keynote speakers made reference to abortion to a greater or lesser extent."

And further on in the article,

"Ann Furedi of BPAS was an inspirational keynote speaker on abortion on the final day. Her theme was “Safe, legal but probably not rare: Why abortion is a fact of life.” She was unapologetic in claiming the moral highground with the assertion that for many women abortion is a responsible choice and for them the right thing. Her response to those who claim that abortion is a problem was to affirm that abortion might very well be a possible solution to another problem. Another memorable message was that we can’t make abortion rare but we can keep abortion safe."
