Working for Planned Parenthood

From October 2005 — May 2007, Watson worked as a Clinic Volunteer & "Pregnancy Options Counselor" for Planned Parenthood in Los Angeles. Here she assisted the clinic staff with reception duties, filing, billing, pregnancy & emergency contraception counseling, exam room turnover, instrument sterilization, and surgical procedures. She was recognized as Clinic Volunteer of the Year in 2007 for all Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.[2][1] In March 2007, while Watson was still working for Planned Parenthood, pro-lifer Lila Rose went undercover in two Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles clinics, posing as a 15-year old girl impregnated by her 23-year old boyfriend. Clinic workers encouraged Rose to lie about her age so that the sexual abuse would not be reported. They also played on her fears during counseling sessions to try to sell her an abortion.[3]

Coat Hanger Project

On 12 May 2010, ALRANZ co-hosted a screening of the Coat Hanger Project with the Women's Rights Officer at Victoria University for Women's Fest. This was followed by a panel discussion with Jackie Edmond, CEO of the Family Planning Association, Margaret Sparrow, Steve Chadwick, Labour MP, Kerryn Baker and Hadley Watson, students at Victoria University.[4][5]
