James Woolnough

Dr James "Jim" Woolnough operated as an abortionist in Sydney before being employed by the Auckland Medical Aid Trust as principal operating medical practitioner (abortionist) for their abortion clinic in Remuera, Auckland from 1974 - the Auckland Medical Aid Centre.[1] He was prosecuted under section 183 of the Crimes Act 1961, however in 1975 he was acquitted after two trials by a jury. The acquittal was upheld in the Court of Appeal in July 1976.
