The Lilith Fund is an organization that raises funds in order to subsidize abortions for low-income mothers. It is a member organization of the National Network of Abortion Funds.[1]

About

The Lilith Fund seeks to assist Texas women in gaining access to abortion by removing barriers to access. They seek to achieve this through direct financial assistance and counseling to empower women seeking to have her preborn child aborted, and through education and outreach within the community about abortion rights. On their website, the Fund states,

"We envision a society in which equal access to abortion is guaranteed for all women, regardless of economic situation. The Lilith Fund believes in reproductive equity. The right to choose an abortion is meaningless without access to abortion services. Restrictions on abortion access and funding are discriminatory because they especially burden low-income women. We oppose all efforts to restrict abortion rights and are committed to fighting for access to abortion for all women."

2012 Bowl-A-Thon

The National Abortion Access Bowl-A-Thon is an annual, nationwide event coordinated by the National Network of Abortion Funds. Individual abortion funds create a fundraising page on the Bowl-A-Thon website. Participants seek to gain sponsorships for their "team." Funds raised from Bowl-A-Thons go to the individual abortion funds to enable them to subsidize abortions for low-income mothers.
