Marlene Lamb
Marlene Maude Lamb is based in Hamilton.
Abortion Supervisory Committee
From 1994 to 2005 she was the non- medical member of the Abortion Supervisory Committee.[1] The Committee oversees abortion law and practise in New Zealand. This includes licensing abortion mills, and appointing certifying consultants.
Community Service
Marlene Lamb has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours with the Queen’s Service Medal for Community Service. She has a long record of national and community service, particularly in the areas of the intellectual disability and women.
From 1960 to 1980 she was involved in church, Playcentre, Plunket, Save the Children, Women's Division of Federated Farmers and International Training in Communication.
In 1978 she became an accredited marriage guidance counsellor and conciliator and a tutor for Waikato Marriage Guidance. From 1991 to 1997 she was a member of the Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control, from 1991 to 2001 a Community Member of the Waikato Benefit Review Committee and from 1993 to 1997 a trustee of the Trustbank Waikato Community Trust.
From 1997 to 2000 she was Trustee, Executive Officer and then Chairperson of the Mary Andrew Literacy Training Trust. She has been involved with IHC since 1994, holding positions as President of the Waikato South Branch and a member of the New Zealand Council, and was a member of the IHC Board of Governance from 2001 to 2003.[1]
