Peter Richard Stone is a Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Auckland University.[1]

Abortion Supervisory Committee
As at November, 2006, Stone was chair of the Quality Committee for the Abortion Supervisory Committee.[1]
Co-authored article on First Trimester Abortion
In February 1998, Margaret Sparrow, John D. Tail and Peter Stone authored an article entitled "Vaginal Dinoprostone Versus Oral Misoprostol for Predilatation of the Cervix in First Trimester Surgical Abortion" in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Volume 38, Issue 1, pages 64–68, February 1998[2]
Istar
As at 19 December 2007, Stone was an officer of Istar, a limited liability company (LTD) and a charitable trust with tax-exempt status that imports the abortion drug, RU486 into New Zealand. [3]
Abortion Providers Conference
Professor Peter Stone, Auckland University Professor of Maternal & Fetal Medicine, gave the opening keynote address at the 5th NZ Abortion Providers Conference which was held in Auckland on March 28-29 2008. In his talk, Stone "raised a number of important issues and challenges," wrote Margaret Sparrow. "Of particular interest to ALRANZ members, was his support for the decriminalisation of abortion. He considers abortion part of women’s health, not straddled as it is between Health and Justice. Fetal issues are his specialty and he supports fetal abnormality as a ground for abortion after 20 weeks. In the past 30 years there has been a revolution in fetal medicine not only through the widespread availability of ultrasound but better neonatal care and changing patient expectations."[4]
Certifying Consultant
As at 11 November, 2009, Stone was a Certifying Consultant working at Level 9 Support Block, Auckland City Hospital. Certifying consultants have the job of approving or disapproving a mother being permitted to have her pre-born child killed by abortion.[5]
National Screening Program
Stone has been a member of a number of Ministerial advisory groups most recently on the screening advisory groups for HIV and Down Syndrome as well as being a member of the National Screening Advisory Group for the Director General of Health.[6]
Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee
On 23 November 2010, the Perinatal and Maternal Mortality Review Committee held its annual workshop entitled "Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies" in Christchurch. Professor Peter Stone spoke alongside Dr. Dianne Webster in a session entitled "Screening Matters" at the event. At the end of the session, Stone acknowledged the assistance of Webster, Dianna Austin, Jane McEntee and her staff.[7]
