Katey Zeh
Katey Zeh is a self-proclaimed women's health advocate, grassroots organizer and member of the United Methodist Church.[1] Zeh has lived in Cary, North Carolina since 2011. Prior to this she lived in St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Personal Life
Zeh has stated, "Being pro-choice and a person of faith is not contradictory to me. In fact, my faith forms the very basis of my passion for reproductive justice. I am called to care for those who are marginalized, and I believe women facing unintended pregnancies are among the most marginalized, especially those living in poverty. I believe every woman has the moral capacity to make difficult decisions for herself, including tough reproductive choices."[2]
Education
From 2001 – 2005 Zeh studied for a AB, Religious Studies, Gender Studies at Davidson College. From 2005 – 2008 she studied for a M.Div, Religious Studies at Yale University. From 2006 - 2007 Zeh worked as coordinator for the Divinity School Women's Center at the university.[3]
United Methodist Church
From Jan. 2010 - present, Katey Zeh has worked as Project Director for the United Methodist Church General Board of Church and Society. In this role she organizes, educates, and advocate for the "Healthy Families, Healthy Planet" initiative.[3] The initiative is funded through a grant from the United Nations Foundation. The initiative entails a partnership among GBCS, General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM), the United Methodist Global AIDS Fund Committee and Operation Healing Hope, a GBCS initiative on maternal health.[4]
As an Education and Advocacy Consultant for the General Board of Church and Society for The United Methodist Church, Katey works to educate United Methodists in the U.S. about reproductive health and empower them to advocate for increased U.S. funding for international family planning.[2]
Center for Health and Gender Equity
From June 2009 – January 2010, Zeh worked as program assistant at the Center for Health and Gender Equity.[3]
Women's Alliance for Theology, Ethics and Ritual
In 2006, Zeh interned for the Women's Alliance for Theology, Ethics and Ritual (WATER).[3]
Women's Information Network
Katey Zeh has been a member of the Women's Information Network (WIN) since 2009. WIN is a 501(c)4 nonprofit organization which seeks to bring together young Democrat women who support legal abortion. Since joining the organization she has become a WIN Ambassador and was featured in the new WIN promotional video that debuted at the 20th anniversary affair.[2]
Planned Parenthood
In 2012, Katey Zeh spoke alongside Serena Josel, Planned Parenthood; and Ena Valladares, California Latinas for Reproductive Rights on a panel hosted by the UCLA School of Law chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy. The panel was held in honor of the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.[5]
Planned Parenthood of Connecticut
Katey Zeh has volunteered as a pastoral counselor for abortion patients for Planned Parenthood of Connecticut.[6][7]
Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice
Katey Zeh has served on the board of directors for the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice in 2011 and 2012.[8]
Zeh has also served on the board of Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice of Connecticut.[7]
No More Bills for Pills Website
On Aug. 1, 2012, the provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Bill for $0 co-pay for contraceptives came into effect. On Aug. 8, 2012, Zeh launched a Tumblr website entitled "No More Bills for Pills."[9] The site seeks to document individuals' gratitude to the Obama Administration that they no longer need to pay for contraception.
On Aug. 8 the Facebook page of Planned Parenthood Action Fund shared a link to the website.[10] Zeh credited Emily Morrison for Planned Parenthood sharing the website. Morrison works as Manager, Political Research at the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Zeh further thanked Julie Grubbs and Michael Lorin Friedman for pushing her to set up the website. Grubbs works for international abortion-rights group, Ipas.[11]
